Singrow opens R&D farm, expands regionally

Singrow, an AgFunder GROW Impact Accelerator cohort 1 alumnus, is expanding globally through partnerships with farms in Malaysia and Thailand, in addition to ongoing plans in China.

Having signed partnerships with TreeGrow Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) and PREINO Co. Ltd (Thailand), Singrow will be able to expand its climate resilient tech to climate-impacted regions.

With the opening of a new R&D hub located at the Singapore Science Park, Singrow will be applying its agri-genomics technology to other crops, including rice, corn, sustainable palm oil, and more.

This follows from the success of Singrow Strawberries, which are designed to be grown in tropical climates such as Singapore.

Agri-genomics for climate resilience

Singrow is tackling the challenges of growing food in an age of limited resources and natural disasters brought on by climate change.

Their state-of-the-art agritech also stands out from other vertical farms, by handling every step of the grow process from seed breeding to harvesting. This enables them to breed crops suited to certain environments, such as drought, while automating various tasks later on in the growing cycle.

Beyond Thailand and Malaysia, Singrow also has plans to have a seedling production facility at Guangzhou Knowledge City by 2024.

Congratulations to Shengjie and his team at Singrow!
