LYRO Robotics awarded nearly $800k grant for novelty and scalability

LYRO Robotics, our AgFunder GROW Impact Accelerator cohort 3 alumnus, has been awarded nearly AUD$800,000 in grant funding under the Accelerating Commercialisation programme. This award is part of the AusIndustry Entrepreneurs’ Programme, which provides funding and advice to businesses, start-ups and research with a “novel product, process or service ready to scale up”.

Grants were awarded to over 30 projects, and are valued between from AUD$50,000 to AUD$1 million.

Solving food wastage and labour shortage through robots that work

Through a combination of AI, computer vision and unique grasping technology, LYRO bridges the gap between the accuracy of human labour and robotic technology. By deploying robots-as-a-service, LYRO wants to strengthen the fresh produce supply chain by curbing food wastage and the impact of labour shortage while unlocking new growth opportunities for farm workers.

This award follows its recent announcement to raise a seed investment round of US$3-3.5 million to deploy their robots to growers in the Australian fresh produce industry. LYRO robots have worked over thousands of hours in farms, and reliably pattern pack multiple types of produce.

Congratulations to the team at LYRO Robotics!
