Facing dynamic shifts in consumer preferences and an increasing emphasis on sustainable sourcing, companies worldwide are exploring the world of food sciences and biotechnologies to whip up better-for-you options. The search is on for innovative solutions that can ensure the familiar and enjoyable qualities of food products, while promoting their longevity in our food supply chain.
About the challenge
The Biotech & Specialty Ingredients Challenge presents an opportunity for 10 innovative scale-ups to pitch to one of GROW’s corporate partners, a globally-recognised food and beverage MNC operating across international markets.
Selected startups will have the opportunity to secure the corporate as a potential customer. If your solution needs additional refinement, you will collaborate with the corporate to obtain technical feedback through solution testbedding. Successful trials may be commercially deployed.

Areas of Interest
We invite applications from scale-ups with disruptive or innovative solutions in areas including, but not limited to:
- Ingredients for 1:1 sugar replacement in beverages
- Processing methods to prolong the shelf life of bakery products and their fillings
Applicants should at least have a minimum viable product, established product-market fit, and operate in at least one market.
